Highlight Photo GOV. EASLEY ANNOUNCES 900 JOBS IN NEW HANOVER COUNTY 4/30/2008
– Gov. Mike Easley announced that GE Hitachi Nuclear Energy Americas LLC will expand its campus near Wilmington, creating 900 jobs over the next five years and investing $704 million. State grants from the One North Carolina Fund and Job Development Investment Grant program made the project possible.

GOV. EASLEY PROPOSES FUNDING TO HELP VULNERABLE NORTH CAROLINIANS 5/8/2008
Gov. Mike Easley said today his 2008-09 budget proposal will recommend spending an additional $31 million to help those who often are overlooked by society but are the most in need. The budget the governor will present to the General Assembly next week will provide additional funds for: health insurance for children in need through the Health Choice program; assistance to those at the greatest threat of foreclosure on their homes; increased aid to those in need of child care; and job-site inspections and assistance to workers in the state's poultry industry. full story...

SITE SELECTION RANKS TWO N.C. PROJECTS AMONG NORTH AMERICA'S 2007 TOP DEALS 5/1/2008
Gov. Mike Easley today announced that two of North Carolina's economic development wins are ranked among the 20 Top Deals in North America by Site Selection magazine. The two deals are the agreements that brought Google to Caldwell County and the decision by Honda Aircraft to expand its Guilford County operations and build its new HondaJet at Piedmont Triad International Airport.
